Edirol Corporation today announced the release of several new products. The company has updated it’s USB MIDI Interface line with three new designs — the UM-1EX (US$49), the UM-2EX ($49) and the UM-3EX ($89). Also introduced was the MA-1EX ($80) USB powered speaker system for mobile computer users. The new speakers feature a bass enhancer for a fuller sound, a 1/8″ headphone jack and S/P DIF output. Finally, Edirol announced a new version of it’s UA-1 series USB Audio Interface ($99).

Edirol has announced that its FA-101 10×10 FireWire Audio interface is now shipping. With direct support for Mac OS X 10.3 (Panther) using Apple’s FireWire Core Audio Driver 1.0.8, the FA-101 (US$695) is a “powerful, affordable FireWire Audio interface that offers low latency, portability and stability on the Mac platform.” The FA-101 is a single half-rack 10×10, 24-bit/96kHz audio interface drawing power directly from a 6-pin FireWire port. The unit is capable of 6 in, 6 out at 24-bit/192kHz.

Edirol has announced the PCR-1, a new combo device that integrates a USB bus powered 24-bit/96kHz audio interface into a 25-key MIDI keyboard controller. The ultra-portable (1-3/16” thick, under 3 pounds) MIDI Keyboard Controller offers 128-step velocity sensitivity and the same control map support as its larger PCR siblings.
