The Mac version of ePocrates Rx Pro, the leading handheld drug reference software, is now available. ePocrates Rx Pro for the Mac is compatible with Mac OS 9.2 and above and can be used with Palm OS devices. It includes formulary information, DocAlert Messages, alternative medicine information, and an AutoUpdate feature that obtains updates by syncing your PDA with your computer.

A representative from ePocrates let us know that the company has partnered with the Department of Health and Human Services to communicate bioterrorism alerts to users of its drug reference software via DocAlert messages. “When we launch ePocrates Rx Pro for Mac users in the coming weeks, they will be able to receive these alerts via AutoUpdate (when they HotSync while connected to the Internet).
