FireWire Depot today announced new storage enclosures. These include: the FireXpress Quad 4-in-1 FireWire 1394a 1394b USB2 SATA Drive 3.5 inch Enclosure (US$149.99); the FireXpress Triplet 3-in-1 FireWire USB to SATA Dual Drive Enclosure ($159.99); and the 2.5″ inch SpeedzterIIs FireWire USB to SATA enclosure ($109.95). All three are available later this month.

FireWire Depot today introduced the new CFI-4043 (US$279.95), a 4-Bay eSATA enclosure capable of 3.0Gbps transfer rates employing Silicon Image’s port multiplier technology so there is only ONE eSATA cable for all FOUR SATA II drives. Also announced were new holiday bundle specials, all of which are detailed on the Web site.

FireWire Depot today introduced the CalDigit ExpressCard/34 eSATA card (US$119.95) for MacBook Pro 15″ or 17″ with an ExpressCard/54 or ExpressCard/34 expansion slot. “The ExpressCard allows for portable performance in the field, enabling you to capture, develop, edit and create content in almost any environment when using Apple’s new MacBook Pro notebook computers. FireWire Depot today announced several new products. These include: NAS/SAN (iSCSI) with RAID 0,1,5,6 CeNASi for US$1,895.00; Dual hot-swap drive RAID 1 (mirror) enclosure EF5-R1 for $239.00; and FireWire to Four SATA I/II drive in 1U rackmount As RAID 0 or JBoD uRAID-S for $659.95.

FireWire Depot today announced the PCI-Express 2 port Serial ATA to PCI Express Host Adapter for Mac OS X, Windows, and Linux for US$69.95. The SATA2-PCIE02 is a 2-port Serial ATA to PCI Express Host Adapter features a Silicon Image Sil3132 Serial ATA Host Controller. The SATA2-PCIE02 is designed to provide multiple port serial ATA connectivity with minimal host overhead and host to device latency.

FireWire Depot today announced the new MB559 FireWire 1394a/USB2.0 to SATA drive version with removable tray (US$169.95). “The MB559 is a simple, elegantly designed external storage drive rack with removable drive tray (1 x 3.5” SATA I or II hard drive) and hot swap capability making exchanging drives virtually hassle free! The unit can be placed horizontally and is also convertible to vertical placement with an extendable foot stand to save working space.

FireWire Depot today announced the availability of its new SATA 1 in/5 out hub, a portable SATA_HUB with unique USB bus power feature, allowing you to add more SATAI and/or SATAII devices to your system at any place or time without needing an external AC adapter. One in Five Out ports, which automatically connects and transfers with proper bandwidth of either 3.0GB (SATA II) or 1.5GB (SATA I). To use the SATA_HUB, all you need is an available USB port to provide power to the SATA_HUB.

In addition to the new ezRAID drives, FireWire Depot has announced its FireWire 800 1394b & USB 2.0 Combo to dual SATA External Enclosure with removable drive trays for US$189.99. The company says the the new enclosure is “ideally suited for applications requiring two SATA HDDs. It allows two SATA drives to be connected to USB 2.0 or FireWire 800 (IEEE 1394b) serial bus in a plug-and-play fashion.

FireWire Depot today announced three new SATA subsystem modules: the MB453 three drive SATA subsystem with a full aluminum cooling body constructed to fit three SATA (I or II) drive within a two (5.25”) bay fitting for US$119.99; the MB454 four drive SATA subsystem for $149.99; and the MB455 five drive SATA subsystem for $179.99.

FireWire Depot today announced the EF83-Q Four Drive FireWire 800 Enclosure featuring RAID 1, 0 or JBOD. The EF83-Q, priced at US$329, is the latest in the company’s series of FOUR DRIVE 3.5″ drive FireWire 800 (1394b) enclosures. The EF83-Q comes with four hot-swappable IDE hard drive trays which can be programmed into either a RAID 0, RAID 1 or JBOD configuration.

FireWire Depot today announced the introduction of new products, the revival of an old favorite, and savings on a large selection of products. The newest member of the company’s “isolator port” cables — the FW-ISO69 (US$19.99) — allows users who have FireWire 1394a devices connected to their FireWire 800 1394b bus to be protected from faulty cables, power supplies, and bus noise damage.
