Just as the Boston Macworld Conference & Expo is winding down, another event that will interest many Mac users will be kicking off–InDesign Conference 2004. Taking place July 15-17 at Boston’s Seaport Hotel, the conference will feature numerous Adobe InDesign experts, authors, trainers and third party developers that will offer advanced training, tips and techniques.

Adobe has released InDesign CS 3.0.1, the latest update to its popular publishing application. According to the company, version 3.0.1 addresses several issues that were identified since InDesign CS began shipping in October. Adobe on Monday announced InDesign CS PageMaker Edition, an InDesign CS extension to help PageMaker users make “a quick and successful” transition to the layout and design package. The new product includes a full version of Adobe InDesign CS plus a PageMaker Plug-in Pack, templates, and training materials. Adobe InDesign CS PageMaker Edition for Mac OS X will be available in the first quarter of 2004. The estimated street price will be US$349 to registered users who own any version of Adobe PageMaker.

Adobe today released InDesign Long Document Performance Updater 2.0.2, as noted by MacUpdate. Adobe notes, “When text is reflowed in a document in Adobe InDesign, (for example, by adding text to a story or placing a frame with text wrap over a story), the text may be slow to recompose if the story contains a large amount of text.
