InstallShield Software has released InstallShield X, a Mac OS X-compatible installation authoring solution that enables software application developers to author industry-standard installations targeting just about any platform, operating system and device. It’s designed to be an all-in-one, “author once and deploy anywhere” product. InstallShield X is priced at US$1,199; upgrades from previous InstallShield Software products are $599.

InstallShield Software today announced the immediate availability of MultiPlatform 5, the newest version of its cross-platform installation authoring solution. InstallShield MultiPlatform offers software developers a single solution for creating, testing and maintaining installations for multiple platforms. Version 5 now includes support for Mac OS X and more flavors of UNIX, Java Swing support and a host of new install actions.
