Apple today posted iPhoto 4.0.3 after pulling the iPhoto 4.0.2 update earlier this week without explanation. Like the previous update, version 4.0.3 addresses minor issues with Smart Albums and European books, and provides notification when new versions of iPhoto are available.

It appears Apple has removed the iPhoto 4.0.2 update, which was initially released on Monday, without any explanation. The update is still listed on Apple’s iPhoto Support page, but the link is presently broken.

In his latest BusinessWeek column, Alex Salkever says that now is the time for Apple to release iPhoto for Windows. “Steve Jobs has already proven he can translate his mastery of the intuitive user interface to the PC world with the successful launch of iTunes software for Windows machines,” writes Salkever. “For an encore, Apple should release a version of iPhoto for Windows. After iTunes, it’s the next most popular digital-lifestyle application on the Mac.
