Tribalmedia has announced that they have acquired the media software suite iShell from Tribeworks, and will immediately begin marketing, selling, and supporting iShell. iShell is a software tool that allows developers to rapidly create secure, interactive, multiplatform CD and DVD-ROMs. The product is also used to create other types of multimedia applications such as kiosks, digital signage, and standalone Internet applications.

Tribeworks today announced the next release of iShell — iShell 4.5 — will run natively on Intel-based Macs. iShell is a cross-platform digital media authoring tool for the creation of e-learning solutions, CD and DVD-ROMs, kiosks and Internet applications.
