Boinx Software has announced the release of iStopMotion 1.8, a new version of its stop motion animation tool for Mac OS X. iStopMotion 1.8 introduces a new pro level feature that aims to help animators to synchronise their animation to a given soundtrack. The new version also features an improved timeline with thumbnail representation of the captured frames, direct drag and drop import of images from the finder, and improves the import of multiple pictures from a still camera. Boinx iStopMotion starts at US$39.95.

Boinx Software today released iStopMotion 1.5, the latest version of its stop motion animation tool for Mac OS X. Version 1.5 brings support for high-resolution movies and digital still cameras. The update also offers a Noise Reduction feature that increases the image quality when working with video sources such as the Apple iSight. iStopMotion is priced at US$39.95. The iStopMotion 1.5 HR key, which supports output of high-res video, is available for $349 until Oct. 30th ($399 afterwards).

Boinx Software’s stop motion animation tool, iStopMotion, has been updated to version 1.3, adding German localization and a preference setting for turning the video upside down in order to support animation of small objects. Also, the sound that’s played when a frame is captured can now be turned off for time-lapse recordings. Current owners of iStopMotion 1.0 or later can continue to use their keys with version 1.3. For new users the cost is US$39.95; volume licensing for schools and other educational institutions is available.

iStopMotion 0.3 is the latest version of Mac OS X application for creating stop motion (also called claymation) films. Version 0.3 is a complete rewrite of iStopMotion using Cocoa, Mac OS X’s native API environment, allowing for a completely new look, increased stability and better performance.
