Griffin Technology today released iTrip Software 2.0, an update to its software that installs all available US frequencies on an iPod or iPod mini. Users can then change the broadcast frequency of their iTrip or iTrip mini directly from their iPod. Griffin today announced the iTrip mini FM Transmitter for Apple’s iPod mini has begun shipping — one month earlier than originally announced. The new iTrip mini, which can broadcast to any available frequency on the FM dial, brings the entire list of iTrip features to the iPod mini in a new, form-fitting mini design. The iTrip mini is priced at US$39.99.

Griffin Technology today released iTrip Station Finder 2.0, an update to its free application that helps iTrip owners find a clear frequency in over 200 U.S. cities. Version 2.0 adds frequencies for 15 additional countries, interactive map navigation, and user submission of new frequencies. The iTrip is an FM transmitter for Apple’s iPod.

Griffin Technology today announced the new iTrip FM Transmitters for third generation iPods have started shipping. The new iTrip is similar to the original iTrip, but offers an even sleeker body style, new power saving features and a red LED light to match the new iPods red backlight. The new iTrip is priced at US$35 and is available now.

The Register reports that Griffin’s iTrip FM Transmitter for the iPod is illegal in the UK. “The iTrip connects to an iPod and transmits songs by FM radio to any radio receiver in the vicinity. While its operation in the US is permitted by the Federal Communications Commission, over here the device contravenes the UK Wireless Telegraphy Act of 1949.”
