LaCie today introduce new storage solutions to help people easily manage their digital lives, from professionals to everyday users. The company has partnered with tech companies EMC Insignia, Panasonic and Roxio to deliver comprehensive storage solutions.

LaCie today announced increased capacities for its LaCie Hard Drives Design by FA Porsche. New drives offer 500GB of storage in a small, sleek case created exclusively for LaCie by the renowned agency Porsche Design GmbH.

LaCie today announced a new range of flat panel displays dubbed the LaCie 100 Series, offering high 1000:1 contrast ratio for digital professionals working in editing, design and layout departments (different from our color-accurate 300 Series Monitors designed for graphics pros). 100 Series Monitors utilize Premium MVA (Multi-domain Vertical Alignment) LCD technology and can be height-adjusted, tilted and swiveled to adapt to any work environment.

LaCie today announced a new series of external hard drives — the d2 Serial ATA (SATA) Hard Drive that is capable of reaching transfer rates of 1.5Gbps. The drives, which will be available this winter, ship with the LaCie SATA PCI Card, a SATA PCI-HOST adapter, and power supply. Pricing is as follows: 74GB 10krpm 8MB US$449, 160GB 7200rpm 8MB $269, 250GB 7200rpm 8MB $339, and 400GB 7200rpm 8MB $549.

LaCie today announced its newest hard drive series–the d2 Extreme with Triple Interface. The drives offer FireWire 800, FireWire 400 and USB 2.0 interfaces; a 7200rpm 8MB buffer; and come in capacities of 160GB (US$199), 200GB ($249) and 250GB ($279). The LaCie d2 Extreme with Triple Interface comes in the distinct d2 design made of sturdy aluminum alloy that offers improved heat dissipation to help prolong the life of the drive. The d2 Extreme drives will be available later this month in the US, and November worldwide.

LaCie today announced that it has updated its FA Porsche-designed Mobile Hard Drive with 100GB storage capacity and both FireWire and USB 2.0 interfaces. This ultra-portable drive “weighs less than a deck of cards and can be tucked into a shirt pocket for easy transport.” The LaCie Mobile Hard Drive is available in the following configurations: 40GB/4200rpm/2MB (US$159), 60GB/4200rpm/8MB ( $199), 60GB/7200rpm/8MB ($299), 80GB/4200rpm/8MB ($259), 80GB/5400rpm/8MB ($299), and 100GB/4200rpm/8MB ($369).

LaCie has expanded its line of hard drives with the introduction of the Bigger Disk Extreme, which offers up to 1.6 terabytes of storage with the fastest speeds on the market.

LaCie has announced a line of external drives featuring the new double layer DVD recording technology, which gives users almost twice the capacity of current recordable DVDs on a single-sided disc. LaCie’s d2 DL DVD±RW drives, which will begin shipping next month starting at US$249, also feature the fastest speeds available — 8x DVD±R and 4x DVD±RW. With the d2 DL DVD±RW Drive, users can store and archive as much as four hours of high-quality DVD video, up to 16 hours of VHS video or up to 8.5GB of data, music or photos.

LaCie today announced a new FireWire 800 PCMCIA card that allows you to add two external FireWire 800 ports and one FireWire 400 port to your current laptop. The FireWire 800 PC Card will give you the ability to transfer your data up to 800 Mbits/sec (400 Mbits/sec with FireWire 400). It will be available later this month for US$79.

LaCie has now released a Mac OS X version of the firmware update for its d2 FireWire 800 and Big Disk FireWire 800 hard drives that offers Mac OS X 10.3 Panther compatibility. Previously, LaCie had only released a Mac OS 9 version.

LaCie today announced that its products are now available in CompUSA stores nationwide. CompUSA will initially launch with the award-winning d2 product line, and will expand later to include LaCie’s range of hard drives and DVD burners designed by F.A. Porsche.
