Apple today unveiled a near final version of Mac OS X Leopard, the sixth major release of what it says is the world’s most advanced operating system.

During his keynote address at WWDC today, Steve Jobs mentioned that the next major release of Mac OS X will be named Leopard. The CEO said that the company plans to release Leopard in late 2006 or early 2007 — in the same timeframe as Microsoft’s Longhorn release.
