Lexar Media today announced the availability of JumpDrive Secure II, its second generation USB flash drive featuring 256-bit AES Encryption to secure folders and files so users can store and protect valuable files, data and images. The new drive features a dashboard onscreen interface for navigating the drive’s security features. Another new feature is the File Shredder that discards files including the ‘digital trail’ normally left behind when files are deleted.

Lexar Media has introduced a Mac-compatible 32-bit CompactFlash CardBus reader, several new Memory Stick and memory card products. Designed for laptops, the US$49.99 reader inserts into a PCMCIA slot and supports read/write speeds up to the maximum CompactFlash protocol interface—just over 16MB/s.

Lexar Media today announced “the world’s first and only” 4GB CompactFlash memory card. The 4GB card stores about 600 images captured in RAW mode using a 6-megapixel professional camera, and as many as 45,000 JPEG images with lower resolution cameras, according to Lexar. It is speed rated at 40x, which is capable of a sustained minimum write speed of 6MB/s.

Lexar Media has announced a significant number of new products including: a 7-in-1 USB 2.0/1.1 Multi-Card Reader (available in April for $39);
the JumpDrive Secure, a rugged portable USB storage device with encrypted, password-protected security software for Mac OS X and Windows (available in March in 64MB, 128MB and 256MB — $59, $89 and $149, respectively); 2GB and 4G

Lexar Media today announced upgrades to its JumpDrive 2.0 Pro, the latest enhancement to its portable USB storage line. The new 512MB and 1GB capacities will be available on JumpDrive Pro in February and are compatible with USB 2.0 and backward compatible with USB 1.1 ports.
