IDG World Expo today announced that the Power Tools Conferences and Hands-on MacLabs will return to Macworld Conference & Expo Boston on July 11-14, 2005. Mac users can choose from nine separate Power Tools Conferences and four Hands-on MacLabs. The Power Tools Conferences each provide two full days of intensive training on a specific application or tool and will take place on Monday, July 11 and Tuesday, July 12.

IDG Word Expo has announced that online registration is now open for Macworld Conference & Expo in Boston this summer. The event takes place July 12 – 15, 2004 at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center. Information on pricing, conference discounts, badges and conditions are all available from the Web site.

IDG World Expo has announced the attendance figures for January’s Macworld Conference & Expo in San Francisco. Attendance for this year’s show totaled 32,409, compared to 90,473 in 2003. “These numbers reflect a new accounting procedure implemented by IDG World Expo for January’s show. IDG World Expo today confirmed that the East Coast Macworld Conference & Expo will take place at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center (BCEC) July 12-15, 2004. “After research and discussions with key stakeholders, including vendors, consultants and attendees, it is clear that Macworld Conference & Expo in Boston will provide great value to the Mac community,” said David Korse, president of IDG World Expo.

The Boston Herald has an article on the smaller east coast Macworld Expo taking place in New York next month, and what it means for the 2004 expo in Boston. “Macworld’s much-touted return to the Hub next year may feature a dramatically downsized show that has tens of thousands of fewer attendees than first planned, recent events in New York indicate.

IDG World Expo today announced that it will spotlight “Mac Personalities” — Mac users who have interesting Mac stories to tell or use Mac products in remarkable ways.

An article on the Boston Herald’s Business Today Web site notes that “The Hub is close to stealing an Apple from the Big Apple, in a deal that could pump tens of millions of dollars into the city’s beleaguered economy, sources say.” In other words, Macworld Expo may very well be leaving New York and returning to Boston.
