MOTU has announced Digital Performer 4.1, an update to its digital audio and MIDI sequencing production system. Version 4.1 will add support for the Digidesign Audio Engine (DAE), Apple’s Audio Units plug-in technology and virtual instruments. Digital Performer 4.1 will be provided as a free download to all registered users of version 4.0 on August 8.

MOTU is now accepting pre-orders for Digital Performer 4, the upcoming release of its digital audio and MIDI sequencing production system. The new version brings native Mac OS X support, as well as support for CoreAudio, CoreMIDI, Mac OS X’s Audio MIDI Setup utility, ReWire 2.0, and more.
