Apple on Wednesday picked up two Awards for Innovation in Media at the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) show in Las Vegas. Apple’s Final Cut Pro 5 won an award in the Content Creation category along with Avid’s Media Composer Adrenaline HD 2.1, Avid’s Symphony Nitris, the JVC GY-HD100U 3-CCD HD Camera Recorder, and the Sony HDCAM SR/HDCAM Dual Format Recorder.

The 2004 Vidy Awards, Digital Television/TV Broadcast Awards and Government Video Salutes — which recognize outstanding achievement in the advancement of the art and science of video technology — were announced at the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) conference.

Apple senior VP of worldwide product marketing Phil Schiller used last year’s NAB show to introduce new versions of Apple’s professional video applications: Final Cut Pro 4, DVD Studio Pro 2 and Shake 3.

Apple’s recently introduced Final Cut Pro 4 was included in the NAB best of show awards from Vidy Awards and Government Video Salutes in recognition of outstanding achievement in the advancement of the art and science of video technology, according to an Apple Hot News item. Final Cut Pro also won a TV Technologies “Star 2003” award for best editing product at NAB.
