Nasa’s library exhibit reaches Georgia

On July 4, 2003 we reported that the “NASA @ your library” traveling exhibit, featuring six iMacs and a plasma-screen theater, would be taking a two year tour of US libraries. MacMinute reader Lee Moon wrote in to let us know that the exhibit is currently spending this month at the Brunswick Regional Library in Brunswick, Georgia. “I was very excited when we were selected to be among the first group of libraries to receive the exhibit.,” writes Lee.

NASA space exhibit uses iMacs

NASA @ your library” is a new traveling exhibit featuring six iMacs and a plasma-screen theater, which begins a two year tour of US libraries this month. The goal of the interactive exhibit is to use the “cool factor” of space to “interest children in math and science, and to make people aware of the unique benefits of doing science in orbit.” The tour kicks off at Enoch Pratt Free Library in Baltimore, Maryland. Five exhibits will visit a total of 120 libraries, staying a month at each one.

NASA releases TetrUSS for Mac OS X

NASA Langley Research Center has released TetrUSS, its fluid dynamics and aerodynamics analysis software, for Mac OS X. “Originally developed for NASA internal applications, has gradually evolved into an efficient and versatile CFD tool used by engineers and scientists throughout the nation. TetrUSS has been employed in major NASA research programs such as High Speed Research / High Speed Civil Transport, Hyper-X, Abrupt Wing Stall, Mars Scout, Joint Strike Fighter, and many other smaller projects.
