The Omni Group today released OmniWeb 5.1, an update to its feature-rich Mac OS X Web browser. Version 5.1 features the latest Apple WebCore rendering engine, offering greater compatibility with Web sites; improved history browsing performance; the ability to tab between form elements (text fields, buttons, popups, checkboxes, radio buttons, etc.); and improved Java compatibility and performance. OmniWeb 5.1 sells for US$29.95.

The Omni Group on Wednesday released Export to iPod 1.0, the first of a series of “add-on” releases for the company’s products. Export to iPod allows OmniOutliner users to view Outliner documents on an iPod. The add-on provides the ability to export OmniOutliner documents to first, second, and third generation iPods.

The Omni Group has released OmniOutliner 2.2.3, an update to its popular outlining and organizational tool. The new version provides a number of small updates including a fix for an international text input issue. OmniOutliner sells for US$29.95.

The Omni Group has released an update to the public beta of OmniWeb 4.5, the next major version of its Mac OS X Web browser. The new version addresses a number of bugs present in the last release. The company also released OmniOutliner 2.2.2, an updated version of its popular outlining and organizational tool. The new version, which addresses some localization issues, is strongly recommended for French and Japanese customers.

The Omni Group today released OmniWeb 4.2, an update to its full-featured Mac OS X Web browser, and also announced OmniWeb 4.5 — the first version of the software to incorporate the open source WebCore framework used by Apple in its Safari browser.

The Omni Group today announced OmniGraffle 3.0, a new version of its Mac OS X diagramming and drawing application. Targeted for early April 2003, the Omni Group will be shipping OmniGraffle 3.0, as well as a new Professional version. OmniGraffle 3.0 brings “smart guides,” a redesign of OmniGraffle’s Info panels, an improved toolbar, new caching architecture, better AppleScript support, improved support for importing OmniOutliner files, an improved Selection tool, and more.

The OmniWeb 4.2 beta adds a number of features intended to improve user experience and bring greater compatibility with Web servers. New preferences have been added to improve the process of downloading files and to allow the management of Internet plug-ins.

The Omni Group today announced reduced prices on its software sold through its online store from January 14-17. The sale is in response to requests from Mac OS X fans not able to attend Macworld Expo, where the Omni Group offered special pricing for attendees. Customers will have the following prices available for software licenses: OmniWeb US$25 (normally $34.95), OmniOutliner $25 (normally $34.95), OmniGraffle $50 (normally $64.95), OmniDiskSweeper $10 (normally $14.95), and Omni Productivity Bundle $100 (all four of the above).

Customers that stop by the Omni booth (#542) can purchase retail products with manuals at the following prices: OmniWeb US$25 (normally $34.95), OmniOutliner $25 (normally $34.95), and OmniGraffle $50 (normally $64.95). The Omni Group has released OmniOutliner 2.1.1, the latest version of the company’s popular outlining and organizational tool. The update includes OPML importing and exporting, French and Japanese localizations, and improved responsiveness. OmniOutliner is available as a free version or a licensed version (US$30), which allows users to edit documents with more than twenty items.

The Omni Group today released OmniGraffle 2.1, an update to its drawing and diagramming tool for Mac OS X. Version 2.1 is built specifically for Mac OS X 10.2 (Jaguar), and adds support for custom page sizes, transparency in printing, PDF export, and EPS export under Jaguar. OmniGraffle 2.1 is a free upgrade to users of previous versions, and sells for US$59.95 to new users.
