The Omni Group has announced the release of their “power-user” Web browser: OmniWeb 5.6. OmniWeb features visual tabs, workspaces for rapidly saving a snapshot of open Web pages, and a range of built-in online productivity tools. Version 5.6 offers a new browser engine for speed and performance, a new inline PDF viewing feature, and new Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) compatibility.

The Omni Group today released a beta version of OmniWeb 5.1, the next update to its popular Web browser. OmniWeb 5.1 beta 1 integrates the latest Apple WebCore rendering engine, which offers enhanced standards compliance, performance, and stability. The Omni Group notes that due to the updated WebCore, many Web pages that did not render correctly in OmniWeb 5.0 (but which worked in Safari 1.2.x) will now work in OmniWeb 5.1.

Alco Blom has released URL Manager Pro 3.3.1, the latest update of his professional bookmark manager for Mac OS X. URL Manager Pro allows users to store, manage, and organize bookmarks independently of their browser. Version 3.3.1 adds support for import of Opera 5’s bookmarks and OmniWeb 5’s toolbar favorites. URL Manager Pro 3.3.1 requires Mac OS X 10.2 or higher and is priced at US$25.
