Parallels today announced its release of Parallels Desktop 3.1 for Mac, a feature update of its award-winning software that enables Mac users to run Windows, Linux, and any other operating system at the same time as Mac OS X on a single Mac desktop, without rebooting. This update includes: improved Coherence with deeper Windows integration, such as Exposé and transparent windows support; new Synced Windows and Mac desktop and user profile folders; and significant performance improvements and lower overhead.

Parallels Desktop for Mac Release Candidate 3 is now available. New features in this beta release include: Windows XP to Windows Vista upgrade support; USB 2.0 support; full-feature virtual CD/DVD drive; improved coherence, which lets you run Windows applications without seeing Windows; better Boot Camp support; Transporter RC3 bundled; added keyboard remapping configuration; new look and feel; true “drag & drop” functionality; Mac OS X 10.5 “Leopard” ready; and more. Parallels Desktop for Mac is priced at US$79.99.

Parallels today announced that it is making available the Update Release Candidate (RC) for Parallels Desktop for Mac, the first solution that enables users to run Windows and other operating systems at the same time as Mac OS X on any Intel-based Mac, without re-booting. The update RC, which is free for all Parallels Desktop users, adds support the recently released quad-processor Mac Pro towers outfitted with up to 3.5GB of RAM.
