Paranoid Android 1.1 adds Jaguar support

Unsanity has announced the release of Paranoid Android 1.1, the latest update to the company’s tool to protect against a security vulnerability in Mac OS X. Changes in version 1.1 include: protected applications now appear in the APE Manager preference pane under Enhanced Applications; added support for Mac OS X 10.2; and added more permitted URL schemes — http, https, ftp, mailto, itms, addressbook, rtsp, pnm, ical, webcal, sherlock, guikit, and file. Paranoid Android is free.

Unsanity offers protection from serious OS X security flaw

Unsanity today released Paranoid Android, which the company says can protect you from a serious security flaw under Mac OS X. “A vulnerability in Apple’s Mac OS X results in a potential situation in which a malicious person could execute arbitrary commands on your machine, such as deleting your home directory, or doing other harmful actions,” notes Unsanity. “This vulnerability involves the use of URL “schemes”.
