The last Playlist Club event before the New Year is set to rock again at The Progress Bar in London on November 27. The event allows people to bring in their favorite 15-minute playlist on an iPod (or other digital music player) and play their songs, first come, first served. The best DJs will win prizes from Everything iPod. If you love music and don’t have a music player, you can still go to the event and listen to the music, be a judge, have a dance, and party with the Playlist people.

IDG’s Mac Publishing said that it will release Playlist, a digital music magazine for Windows and Mac users, on August 24. The newsstand-only issue will spotlight digital music technology, the digital lifestyle, and music artists. The magazine was originally to be called iPodworld, but the name was apparently changed after Apple said it would not give permission for use of the name.

The club launches Saturday, August 7 at Nambucca, 596 Holloway Road. “Playlist celebrates digital diversity. It’s all about the music, not the genre. The principle is simple: if you want to share your music, just turn up, sign in and play out. If you want to judge other people’s music, turn up, sign up and speak out.
