Griffin Technology today announced that it is now shipping the SightLight, an add-on light for the iSight Web cam that helps users video chat while in a dimly lit or dark room. The US$39.99 device fits over the iSight and shares its FireWire cable connection. Settings include On, Off and an Auto light mode, which senses the amount of ambient light and adjusts SightLight’s output accordingly.

Griffin has also posted details on the SightLight, an add-on light for the iSight Web cam that adds “a warm glow of light that improves your onscreen iChat appearance.” The US$39.99 gadget fits over the iSight and shares its FireWire cable connection. “The SightLight has three settings — Off, On and Auto,” notes Griffin. “When set to the Auto setting, it automatically senses the amount of ambient room light and adjusts its output accordingly. More light for darker rooms and less light for brighter environments.
