Speck Products has announced two new cases for Apple’s fourth-generation (4G) iPod. The 4G SkinTight case, which will begin shipping on Aug. 31, is a rubberized skin that hugs the iPod to provide protection from bumps and scratches without adding bulk. It comes in three colors (frosted clear, blue and pink) and can be purchased individually for US$19.95 or as a 3-Pack for $29.95. The 4G iStyle features an all leather construction, a plastic screen shied, and a removable swivel belt-clip. It comes in black for $34.95 and will be shipping on Sept. 23.

Speck Products has announced a newly designed rubberized skin for the recently announced iPod mini. The company said it hopes to have the iPod mini Skin cases available when Apple begins shipping the devices in February. The case features shock-absorbing Dynaflex rubberized plastic construction, cutouts for the headphone, FireWire port, and hold switch, and will be introduced in translucent colors inspired from the 5 new iPod mini colors. The Skins will be sold in 3-Packs for US$29.95 and individually for $19.95.

The FlipStand is a hard plastic iPod case that doubles as a desktop stand when the function wheel door is fully opened. The new model has relocated holes for the new iPods navigation buttons and headphone port. The new iPod Skins (shown at right) are made from shock-obsorbing, tear-resistant Kraton plastic and provide protection against dust and scratches. There is no word on pricing or expected ship date.
