Apple Store, MacMall shipping Tiger
A handful of MacMinute readers report receiving shipping notices for Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger from the online Apple Store and MacMall. Two readers even informed us that they’ve already received their ordered copy of Tiger, a week before the update will be rolled out officially. Those that have received shipment confirmation are reporting expected delivery dates of early next week. Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger will go on sale at special events at Apple retail stores and Authorized Apple Resellers across the U.S. on Friday, April 29.

Apple is set to launch Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger by mid-April, according to eWeek. The next major version of Apple’s powerful operating system will introduce several innovative features. “Sources told eWeek that Apple plans to make copies of Tiger available in its own retail stores as well as through independent dealers by April 15, with the official announcement of the product coming earlier in the month.” Read More

In its second lawsuit this month to thwart unannounced products, Apple is suing three men for illegally distributing beta versions of Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) on a file-sharing Web site. Apple claims in its suit that the men released two different versions of Tiger in BitTorrent format on or about Oct. 30 and Dec. 8 of this year.
